While several of you have been keeping up with your blogs quite nicely, others have not. As I have mentioned before, the blog is, along with your attendance and participation in class, the most important element to determine your final grade. We have six more class sessions left! You should have at least 10 "collection" posts and 10 "other" class-related posts in your blog, all at least 300 words and preferably with images.

I am now offering an alternative to that. You can do either or: the blog, or an 8–10 page paper on a suggested topic. Whichever you decide, it will be due no later than 11:59pm on Monday, May 20th.

The paper should be written and presented using the MLA Format. The website linked has a comprehensive overview and formatting and style guide that you can follow, and you can do your own additional research using the format as well – or, head to the library for assistance! Papers submitted that do not follow the format will receive a grade of F, and you will not pass the course.

You must also provide images of any artworks that you talk about in your paper. Follow the guidelines for use of tables, figures, and examples as explained here.

If you are going to write a paper, you MUST submit a topic and brief summary for my approval no later than Monday, April 15.

Any questions? Just email me.
